How do I convert miles to feet?
Multiply by 5,280, the number of feet in a statute mile. So 2 miles is 10,560 ft and a quarter mile is 1,320 ft.
The awkward number comes from the mile being 8 furlongs of 660 ft each. There's no trick that makes it friendlier, so it's one to memorise.
A 10-mile run is 52,800 ft.
